Recently, Clarks Summit Goes Pink and the Clarks Summit community experienced a profound loss with the passing of Michael J. Poremba, a key force behind the organization and one of its most devoted supporters.
Michael was more than a supporter—he was a visionary, a motivator, a convener, and a true believer in the power of community. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and a proud supporter of everything Clarks Summit stood for, from Abington Youth Sports to the causes closest to his heart.
Michael’s passion helped lay the foundation for Clarks Summit Goes Pink, and his dream was to see it grow into an annual, large-scale event that would bring our community together to raise awareness for breast cancer and support those affected by it.
Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to guide us. We are committed to carrying on his legacy and fulfilling his vision—one step, one event, and one act of kindness at a time.
Quote from one of our board members: "Mike knew NOTHING about running or putting on an event but he always knew how to bring the right people together. Reflecting on this all, the past 2 days, Mike will forever be known to me as The Great Convener. I’ve met a lot of really great people, just because Mike always knew how to blend circles and bring fun. Let’s carry this torch forward and keep Mike in our hearts and intentions!"
